Scott serves as the Director of National Programs and Training for the National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC.org) as a non-paid executive staff member. In this role, he leads the planning and delivery of NVSBC events, including our flagship annual VETS Conference, the NVSBC Awards Gala, and the DC Networking Dinner & VetFedAcademy programs. Scott also serves as Senior Advisor to NVSBC Executive Director Scott Jensen on issues including NVSBC’s legislative agenda and strategic planning and as executive liaison to our federal agency and industry partners. Other recent contributions to NVSBC include co-authoring and securing the organization’s first federal grant (SBA CNPP) and co-creating the MarCom award-winning NVSBC Strategy & Legislative Update newsletter.
Scott’s 10+ year history with NVSBC began by organizing and leading a Veteran small business networking community in the Washington, DC area that was merged into NVSBC in March of 2017. He organized and served as emcee for the group’s 70+ monthly dinner meetings at the Key Bridge Marriott, forming the base of NVSBC’s networking and training legacy.
Scott is the Founder & CEO of NewTHINK Solutions, LLC, a DC-metro-based consultancy specializing in creative strategies and growth plans for firms serving as government contractors (GovCons). Bringing a passion for educating, training, and coaching entrepreneurs on starting and accelerating their government sales, Scott integrates his extensive background in federal govcon, business experience as a serial entrepreneur, and academic thought leadership to produce advanced strategies and tactics to accelerate success and revenue. NewTHINK Solutions advisors build big thinking into small firms by leveraging organic and inorganic growth strategies, including M&A, asset purchase (federal contract vehicles), JV’s, Mentor/Protegee, and other strategic partnering techniques. We work with companies to understand and exploit government opportunities – including SDVOSB certification migration – with results-driven performance.
