Veteran Entrepreneur Training symposium, VETS 14

REFERENCE:  Veteran Entrepreneur Training symposium, VETS 14

Dear Small Business Liaison Officers:

On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of the National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC), we respectfully request your participation in this year’s Veteran Entrepreneur Training Symposium (VETS 14). The symposium will be held June 16-19 at the Silver Legacy in Reno, NV.

Since 2010, NVSBC has worked hard to grow a nation-wide veteran small business organization and to improve the quality of our symposiums and increase the number of attendees. Our focus is slightly different than most small business conferences in that our workshops are conducted by recognized industry experts in the government contracting arena in areas where veteran small business owners need more training and mentoring. We round out the program by adding keynote sessions delivered by motivational speakers, high profile government officials, and notable people with a detailed understanding of government contracting.

We are requesting your support and participation at VETS 14 in two roles:  1) having your small business liaisons participate in our one-on-one business matchmaking sessions where veteran business owners can discuss opportunities with your organization, and 2) exhibiting at VETS 14 where your team will be available to meet with and address questions related to your firm’s contracting activities. Registration can be completed at the VETS 14 website at http://www.veterantrainingsymposium.com/2014-conference-registration.

As part of VETS 14, NVSBC will again present the “Champions of Veterans Enterprise” awards to large business prime contractors, which as a corporation, or a major division/operating unit achieved the 3% goal for subcontract awards to service disabled veteran owned small businesses. NVSBC also plans to recognize corporations and major divisions/operation units which achieved significant subcontracting with veteran owned small businesses. Significant subcontracting is measured as achieving 8% subcontracting with veteran owned small businesses. Due to the effort and expense necessary to provide distinctive and high quality awards, we will only present awards to corporations or major divisions/operating units which attend VETS 14.

If your corporation, major division/operating unit achieved either of these results for Fiscal Year 2013 and will be attending VETS 14 please email company, major division or operation unit, total dollars subcontracted, total dollars subcontracted to SDVOSBs

and VOSBs, name and address of President of the organization to Scott Denniston, NVSBC Executive Director at scott.denniston@nvsbc.org by April 15, 2014.   We look forward to seeing you at VETS 14.

Sincerely,

Heidi Gerding

Board of Directors President
