INVITATION: Waste Management Symposia, Phoenix, Arizona, March 2-6

Mr. John Hale, Director, DOE OSDBU would like to encourage you and your membership to be a part of the annual Waste Management (WM) Conference – WM2014, which will take place in Phoenix, Arizona, March 2-6, 2014. WM Symposia is a non-profit organization dedicated to education and opportunity in waste management. It was founded to provide a forum for discussing and seeking cost-effective and environmentally responsible solutions to the safe management and disposition of radioactive waste and radioactive materials. I participated in the conference last year and it is a first class event with strong representation from industry. It deserves your serious consideration.  I am very excited that WM Symposia is proactively seeking to expand small business participation. Please forward the invitation below to your membership.

This year we host the Small Business Pavilion, an area geared specifically towards small businesses.  Waste Management Symposia is offering qualifying small businesses a significant financial incentive to exhibit in the Small Business Pavilion.  It’s a great chance to showcase small business and everything they have to offer at a lower fee if they haven’t exhibited recently.

We believe that our conference will be of great value to your company, especially as a small business. Some of the key reasons I believe exhibiting will provide you great opportunity are:

[bulletlist]- WM2014 has a record number of papers and panel presentations.  This includes 25 sessions being organized by the US DOE and one specifically by the DOE asking for Small Business input.  This should lead to a strong and dynamic technical participation in the conference that will create key networking opportunities.  We anticipate an increase in participation by DOE over 2013 that will expand the number of contacts that you can make at WM2014.

– It can be anticipated that the US spent fuel disposition program will take shape in 2014.  This should create a new set of activities in siting, engineering, permitting, transportation, storage and other functions.  Many key managers from this program will be present at WM2014.

– The routine management of the US nuclear laboratory complex is a stable and significant market.  Exhibiting at WM2014 will provide your organization with the window to reach managers from nearly every part of this complex.

– The UK cleanup and decommissioning effort is a large and dynamic program, running $5 billion per year, key managers from nearly every part of this effort will be present.

– The Fukushima cleanup effort is one of the largest and most visible activities in the world. Managers from Japan will be present at WM2014. With many business opportunities opening up in Japan, you’ll want the chance to exhibit and showcase your company.

– WM is negotiating with several major US client organizations to provide them with a large exhibit spaces where their senior managers will be present to meet key individuals from the nuclear waste community.  Exhibiting at WM2014 will create the opportunity for your group to participate at these discussions.[/bulletlist]

Nearly $2 million has been given by WMS to educational support, to help create the future workforce and leadership for the global waste management effort.  Choose to make your company part of this effort!  I urge you to visit the Exhibit page on our website at www.wmsym.org to find out more information and see who has already made the choice to connect by exhibiting this year.

If you’d like to speak directly to our Exhibits Manager, please contact Jaclyn Russell at +1 480-557-0263 or by email at exhibits@wmarizona.org.  We look forward to seeing you in Phoenix!

Sincerely,

WM SYMPOSIA, INC.
