Irene V. Glaeser is a proven leader and retired Acting Deputy Executive Director of the U.S. AbilityOne Commission. She is also a retired U.S. Army Military Police Colonel who entered the Army as a private in 1983. She has years of progressive experience providing leadership, analysis, strategic planning, and resource management to military, federal, and non-government organizations. Her experience includes serving as an Advisor on high-level military and federal staffs, overseeing and conducting investigations into wrongdoings and whistleblower reprisal by senior officials for the Department of the Army Inspector General and Department of Defense Office of Inspector General Administrative Investigations, and leading training in both federal and military environments. She also has a background in both federal and military law enforcement. An OIF/OEF Veteran, Irene is passionate about improving the lives of all Veterans. She is a daughter of naturalized immigrants and speaks conversational French and German. Irene holds a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from George Mason University and graduate degrees from the resident U.S. Army War College and Webster University. She has a Certificate from George Washington University Elliott School for International Affairs in National Security for Senior Managers. She lives in Wilmington, N.C., with her husband Al, a Veteran and West Point 1986 graduate. Their children, Peter, is a Special Forces Officer, and Anna, is a registered nurse, and each have two children.
