Kenneth E. King, Colonel USAR (ret)

Colonel (Retired) Kenneth E. King enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in December 1983. Upon his commissioning in 1988, Ken attended Armor Officer Basic Course and his first assignment was in Germany. After serving as a Company Commander in 1997, he joined the Army Reserves. Ken has deployed to Kosovo (1999), Iraq (2003, 2008), and Afghanistan (2012). He has commanded at all levels, from team to brigade. He has held command positions in Armor, Military Police, Logistics, Psyops, and Civil Affairs units. Ken retired from the military in 2018.
Ken holds a baccalaureate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University, a Masters in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University, a Masters in Operations Research from Columbia University, and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
His awards include the Bronze Star (4x), Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Distinguished Rifleman, President’s Hundred, Parachutist Badge, and the Combat Action Badge.
In 2017, Ken founded KingFisher Services, specializing in helping disabled veterans with their return to the workforce. He has held senior leadership positions with Alcoa, General Electric, and Corning. He is a certified trainer and Professional Development Coach. Additionally, he is a leader for the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and recently completed a three year term as the Westmoreland County District Commander for the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
