NVSBC Invited to SBA Interagency Task Force Meeting
Date: July 24, 2025
Scott Jensen, CEO of the National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC) recently participated in a meeting of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Interagency Task Force on Veterans Small Business Development. Leaders from multiple federal agencies met in Washington, DC to discuss the state of veteran small business policy.
During last week’s Small Business Administration Interagency Task Force on Veteran Business Development Public Meeting, I was struck by the energy, commitment, and critical discussions surrounding the support of veteran entrepreneurs. The level of federal government agency participation and the seniority of the government participants was noticeable and sent a strong message that the federal government remains committed to supporting Veteran owned small businesses.
As an official appointee and a representative of the National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC), I am particularly aware of the vital role our organization plays in achieving the task force’s goals. The meeting highlighted the importance of improving access to capital, expanding mentorship programs, and streamlining regulatory processes. I am proud that the NVSBC is positioned to be a key partner in these efforts, leveraging our extensive network and expertise to bridge gaps between veterans and the necessary tools and support systems they need to thrive in today’s business environment.
One of the most compelling discussions focused on the need for tailored training programs to address the unique challenges faced by veterans who are on an entrepreneurship journey. At NVSBC, we are committed to facilitating these programs through our established and highly effective training and networks, which are crucial in fostering a supportive community for veteran business owners. We plan to implement these actions through targeted training sessions, active engagement with our members and members of the task force, and continued advocacy work to ensure veterans are aware of and can access the resources available to them. The meeting reinforced the necessity of collaboration among all stakeholders, and I am eager to see how our collective efforts, including those of the NVSBC, will effectively meet the needs of veteran entrepreneurs.
