Adelaide Kahn is a passionate leader with a background in strategic partnership engagement, programmatic growth, and project management. Though she didn’t have the honor of serving in the military, Adelaide believes strongly in giving back to the veteran community for all they have done to selflessly protect our nation and its interests. Prior to joining NVSBC, Adelaide spent eight years with the non-profit organization Protect Our Defenders (POD), five of them as the organization’s Director of Programs & Policy. While there, she managed end-of-year fundraising endeavors, collaborated with Board members to create successful fundraising events, cultivated relationships with external stakeholders, and routinely engaged with both new and historic donors to encourage regular giving. Additionally, she streamlined POD’s Legal Services Program to enhance client interactions, doubled the number of participants within the Pro Bono Network, connected hundreds of survivors to pro bono assistance to the tune of $13 million in in-kind support, and supported an incredible team of case workers and change advocates. She also oversaw the organization’s policy and advocacy strategies alongside the organization’s CEO and President.
Adelaide currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Crime Victim Law Institute (NCVLI), advising the organization on fundraising and education. She is also a co-founder of the Military Reform Coalition and serves as a Policy Advisor on military sexual assault at Minority Veterans of America (MVA). Passionate about fashion and sustainability, Adelaide is also an Ambassador at Remake, promoting humane and climate-friendly policies and practices within the fashion industry.
Adelaide hails from Los Angeles, CA, has a BA in International Relations with a focus on Global Security from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a MA in Criminology from George Washington University. She currently resides in Washington, DC, and is an avid Dodgers fan.
